Anfibio Folding Sofa Bed by Alessandro Becchi for Giovannetti, 1970s. This collector's piece converts from a three-seat sofa to a double bed. Made of thick brown leather with tufted seats and woven laces detail, 4 leather straps with metal buttons. The inside mattress is made of merino wool. The Anfibio sofa bed is celebrated for its innovative design and has been featured in the permanent collections of many museums, including the Museum of Modern Art in New York. It received the prestigious Compasso d'Oro award in 1972, underscoring its significance in the design community. In good vintage condition, the main seating area has reupholstered with a newer leather, the color is not an exact match with the rest of the original leather.
